Brands Hatch
Leaving for Brands on Thursday, due to testing on the Friday, made the weekend a long one. We did not have a good start to our 2012 campaign, Saturday seeing Nick finishing 8th, 10th and 6th, maybe the weeks leading up to Brands were starting to take their toll. Dean crashing out in both the first and last races before joining back in and having his tracking knocked out in the second race finishing 12th, 6th and 25th was the best he could do on the day. We hoped on Sunday we would fare a bit better. The rain stayed away for the first 2 races and we had better pace, but still not on it as we would expect to be, Nick having 5th, dnf and a 2nd. The dnf was due to a puncture which happened while fighting with Lawrence Davey for 4th and taking a 2nd in the final was his best result of the weekend, and he also received the £50 RSCappe prize for the fastest lap! Dean had a 6th, 3rd and a 4th, not the best days racing by our standards but it could have been worse, so onwards and upwards. Nick has had a look over the cars and we have made some adjustments to them both in preperation for Silverstone this weekend. Lets hope we have gone in the right direction.
Caskies job within the team has been filled admirably by Gary, who you will all know as Simon Belchere’s mechanic of old. Gary will be an integral, and very much welcome part of our team as we go forward in 2012.
We would like to congratulate the Pocklingtons on what was a fine win for Richard in the second race.
