The Winter Break

Well, its been a tough few months for all the guys and gal’s at Bracemotorsport, first up, after the awards party Caskie told Nick he would not be racing with us this year due to a growing family and work commitments.  So its goodbye to Caskie and Rachael.  Caskie has been with Nick from the start and he will be missed by all.  Good Luck mate!

This meant that the artic had to be replaced, or a suitable driver/mechanic had to be found.  After much head and arse scratching Nick decided that a change of lorry, to a 7.5 tonner, would be best, then we could all drive it, once Alex and Dean pass there c1 test.  Just to make things a bit harder for the new season Julie and Donna decided, after their one and only outing in the RS motorhome, that it was not practical  so we sold it and had to find another! After sitting in Nick Powers motorhome we decided the American rv was the only answer, with the Brace clan seemingly getting bigger by the day.  So, after many hours of internet searching we found what we wanted, a BT Cruiser, the same as Nick Powers

The new lorry was found and Pete Morton went to look at it for us as it was up in Rotheram.  Pete reported “it were a grand bit a kit” so Nick paid for it over the phone (all on Petes say so).  When it turned up “it were a belter” so it went straight to PRG in Stoke where it had 4 weeks of work on it.  Then, from there it was up to the awning company, then back to Braceland for finishing by Nick. All the while the clock to Brands Hatch was ticking and tension in the Brace household was on the rise! The lorry was 4 days away from being finished when we ran out of time and had to leave for Brands, so we had to just get on with it as best we could (Dean passed his test the day before we left for Brands).

After practice the lap times showed that the race’s were always going to be close, with just 1.1 seconds covering the top 10. Dean and Nick coming in 5th and 6th fastest and Ben 2 tenths quicker in 4th……………

Back With A Bang!

by admin

After a 7 week summer break the Brace Motorsport Team are back on the track battling it out at none other than Oulton Park for a 1 day meeting. Nick Brace and his trusty Mechanics worked hard to ensure the cars were in tip top condition. Although we had 2 race wins for the Dean Machine and a fabulous 4th & 8th place finish for Nick (Bracey), unfortunately, Nick suffered a misfire and Dean was involved in an unavoidable incident…
